METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SELECTING A CONTROL ENTITY IN A COGINITIVE RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method for selecting a control station of a terminal in a radio cognitive communication system and a system thereof are provided to prevent system interference by selecting the control station through an efficient signaling method in the area where the coverage between a base station and relay stations is overlapped. Frames in which spectrum sensing information is included is received from a plurality of relay stations(301-305). The spectrum sensing information is compared. A relay station having the maximum available resource is selected as a control station(307-317). The spectrum sensing information is received from the base station. The spectrum sensing information of the relay stations is compared with the spectrum sensing information of the base station. If the available resource of the base station is bigger than available resources of the relay stations, the base station is selected as the control station.
