<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can easily determine out of color registration in a main scanning direction, by proposing a new toner mark pattern. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus of tandem type includes: a toner mark pattern formation means 301 that forms the toner mark patterns on a transfer belt; a sensor 302 for detecting the toner mark patterns; a determining means 303 that determines out of color registration based on the detection result of the sensor; and an out-of-color-registration correction means 304 that corrects the out of color registration based on the determination result of the determining means. The toner mark pattern forming means forms, as one set, the pair of toner mark patterns parallel to each other in a main scanning direction and different in position in a sub-scanning direction. On the basis of the result of the detection of the two toner mark patterns by the sensor, the determining means determines the out of color registration in the main scanning direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
