PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a fire extinguishing tool of an ashtray, which greatly holds a lid member for covering the opening of an ashtray body and is highly safe. SOLUTION: The fire tool of an ashtray is composed of a planar base plate 2 made of a synthetic resin and a plurality of cylinders 3 internally projected downward to the undersurface of the base plate 2. The cylinders 3 are equipped with fire-extinguishing holes 4 having the same diameter as that of a cigarette, reaching from a base plate upper side 2A to the lower end part are used and the bottom of each fire extinguishing hole 4 is equipped with a small-diameter open hole 5 passing downward. Recessed grooves 8 which are recessed and formed partially in the peripheral direction on the base of the cylinder 3 to the bottom 2B of the base plate 2, which is the peripheral surface of the cylinder 3 and the recessed grooves 8 are detachably latched to the wire 11a of the aperture 12 of a wire net 11A covering the opening 10 of the main body of an ashtray 9.
