<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate rolling mill capable of stably achieving highly accurate and highly responsive shape control or plate thickness distribution control without a non-stationary part, and also to provide its control method. <P>SOLUTION: The control method is directed to the plate rolling mill which directly supports at least one of a pair of work rolls 1, 2 oppositely arranged with a rolled stock 3 interposed therebetween by a dividing reinforcement roll 4 arranged on at least one of the work rolls 1, 2.
