PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass highly containing Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and having optical constants such as a refractive index (nd) of 2.1 or more and an Abbe's number (νd) of 20 or less. SOLUTION: The optical glass contains Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>of 82% or more in mass% and having a refractive index (nd) of 2.1 or more, an Abbe's number (νd) of 20 or less and a glass transition point (Tg) of 500°C or lower. The optical glass contains an RO ingredient (wherein, R is one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Zn, Ba, Sr, Ca and Mg) and/or an Rn<SB>2</SB>O ingredient (wherein, Rn is one or more of elements selected from the group consisting of Li, Na, K, Cs and Rb) of 0.1% or more in mass%.
