<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security by performing authentication in a unit of module. <P>SOLUTION: A multifunction machine 100 includes: a module for constituting each application which becomes an updating object; a ROM updating application 117 with an input processing section 151 to input a module ID for identifying a module being the updating object; a CCS 130 for performing authentication whether the module identified with the module ID has the authority to permit updating, based on the authentication information for holding information indicating whether to permit updating for every module identified with the module ID; and a multifunction machine start-up section 140 having a ROM updating section for performing the updating of module identified with the identification information, when authenticated that the authority to permit the updating is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
