<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting unit capable of securing a space and making aesthetic design favorable. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicular lighting unit 10, an LED 15 is stored in a light room 13 surrounded by a lamp body 11 and a front surface cover 12, and the lighting unit is provided with a milli-wave radar 17 for transmitting a milli-wave D and for detecting a separation distance to an object and a relative speed by a reflection wave Df from an object reflecting the milli-wave D.
