<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain space-saving and enhancement of operability by commonly using a switch for smart communication and a steering lock device. <P>SOLUTION: The steering lock device 17 has: a switch 23 for emitting an output signal by pressing of a knob 15; and a lock pin drive mechanism 20 for driving a lock pin 26 by the output signal of the switch 23. The lock pin drive mechanism 20 has: a drive motor 24; a gear device 25; and the lock pin 26 advanced/retreated relative to a steering wheel shaft 31 through the gear device by a feed screw 29. Hall IC 34 for outputting a detection signal when a lock plate 32 approaches is provided, and the lock pin 26 is advanced/retreated only when the detection signal of the Hall IC 34 is turned ON.
