PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an airtight terminal and a piezoelectric resonator, capable of equalizing the thickness of a plating of a metal ring and lead terminals and preventing junction failure between the lead terminal and a piezoelectric resonant piece, and to provide the airtight terminal, the piezoelectric resonator, an oscillator, electronic apparatus and a radio wave timepiece. SOLUTION: The airtight terminal 4 has: the metal ring 30 annularly formed; a pair of lead terminals 31, 31 arranged in parallel to each other so as to penetrate the metal ring and including one end used and an inner lead 31a connected to the piezoelectric resonant piece and the other end used as an outer lead 31b electrically connected to the outside with the intervention of the metal ring; and an insulation material 32 for fixing the metal ring with the lead terminals. In the airtight terminal 4, a thermosetting resin lump 33 for fixing the pair of lead terminals is provided in the vicinity of the end of the outer lead terminal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
