PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibrator for an optical noncontact speedometer for simply and accurately calibrating the noncontact speedometer, a position setter for the noncontact speedometer for use in the calibrator, and a calibration method for the noncontact speedometer using the calibrator. SOLUTION: This calibrator is equipped with: a drum rotating machine 2 comprising a drum 21 having a circular outer circumferential surface and supported rotatably around a central axis, a driving part rotatively driving the drum 21, and a rotating meter 22 for measuring the surface velocity of the drum 21; and the position setter 3 comprising a bottom face 31 applied to a curved face 21a constituting part of the circumferential surface of the drum 21, a seat 32 disposed on the peripheral side of a reference point positioned on the curved face 21a, a guide 33 provided on the seat 32 for setting the position of an optical noncontact speedometer 1 so that its light receiving axis A makes a right angle with a tangent to the curved face 21a at the reference point, and a movement mechanism for moving the guide 33 parallel to the tangent.
