A video recording apparatus and a method for recording and reproducing the video in zoom lens operation capable of interworking driving time information of zoom lens are provided to use an optical zoom function during video recording. An optical zoom lens(10) comprises a plurality of lens(11). The location of lenses is adjusted upward by driving units(12, 17). A driving noise connecting unit sets up the driving time of the driving unit. A video file recording unit records image data and audio data as the moving picture file. According to the setting of the driving noise inter-working unit, the moving picture file recorder records the driving time information of the driving unit in the moving picture file.
