A communication apparatus is capable of transmitting e-mail data. If generated e-mail data exceeds a registered data-size limit value (S506) in a case where an e-mail server will intervene in the transmission of the generated e-mail data (S503: YES) then the e-mail data is divided in accordance with that registered data-size limit value and transmitted via the mail server. If the generated e-mail data exceeds another registered data-size limit value in a case where an e-mail server will not intervene in the transmission of the generated e-mail data then the e-mail data is divided in accordance with that other registered data-size limit value and transmitted.
