Invention herewith described refers to natural zeolite-clinoptiloite is increasingly used in treatments for solving human health problems and also even more it is used as a food supplemment. Since it concerns a natural raw material which contains various ingredients, among which toxic metals are often met (Pb, Cd, Hg, As), a strict quality control is necessary. Lead belongs to the first group of toxic metals which is mainly always present in nonmetal raw materials, in a small or high percentage. Invention gives a process for obtaining toxic metals extraction from natural zeolite-clinoptiloite by means of application of EDTA, whereby these are extracted without breaking the main mineral structure. Upon such a treatment zeolit can be longtime used as a food supplement with no harmful effects.
