A method and a terminal for controlling positioning count are provided to reduce terminal load and battery consumption by reducing periodically repeated positioning times. A positioning result gathering unit(210) collects the positioning result which the determination execution cycle is performed. By using the positioning result and collected the set portability determination distance value, the movement determining unit(220) determines the movement of the corresponding terminal. A positioning times controller(230) controls the determination times performed for the positioning result collection time.
