A channel searching method of a smart antenna for receiving the digital broadcasting is provided to combine the fast scanning and general scanning properly. When a synchronous signal is fixed, the current channel of a tuner unit and the direction of a smart antenna are stored(S202-S210) and the smart antenna scans in a preset direction at high speed. If the synchronous signal is not fixed in the fast scanning, the smart antenna normally scans in the preset direction(S214-S218). If the synchronous signal is fixed in the general scanning and an SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) value is a setup value or greater, the current channel of the tuner unit and the direction of the smart antenna are stored.
