A method for generating a soft output for a received signal in an MIMO receiver and a transceiver including a transmitter and the receiver are provided to reduce the complexity and waiting time under a SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) condition of wider range. A soft output MIMO detector(300) generates a soft output for a channel decoder(202). An MIMO receiver(200) repetitively perform the detection and decoding to obtain better performance. A channel decoder feeds back an output to the soft output MIMO detector.
