A marker for discriminating a Capsicum annuum plant having hot taste is provided to stably discrminate the Capsicum annuum having hot taste with high specificity. A marker for discriminating a Capsicum annuum plant which produces a Capsicum annuum having hot taste comprises oligonucleotide of the sequence number 11 (SEQ ID NO:11) and 14. A method for identifying the Capsicum annuum plant comprises: a step of amplifying the oligonucleotide of the sequence numbers 11 and 14 using genome DNA as a template; and a step of determining which Capsicum annuum plant produces the Capsicum annuum having hot taste. The amplification is performed through PCR (polymerase chain reaction).
