The collector (420) has prefabricated slip rings (401, 402) made of copper and separated from one another by an annular axial space (407). An electrical connection element (403) is provided in electrical contact with the ring (401) and extended through the ring (402). A parallelepiped insert (421) is made of electrically insulating material i.e. plastic material, and has a slip ring positioning portion (423) that is extended over only a part of a circumference of the space separating the rings. The insert has a spacing portion (424) extended axially between the ring (402) and the element. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating an electrical collector.
