PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear brake for achieving a linear actuator having reduced size and dimension, a power supply unit for a solenoid drive device, and a linear actuator using the linear brake and/or the power supply unit for a solenoid drive device. SOLUTION: There are provided: the linear brake with a brake drive force producing device around a shaft of the linear actuator, the power supply unit for a solenoid drive device which is overexcited while using a DC power supply as an input power supply, and the linear actuator using the linear brake and/or the power supply unit for a solenoid drive device.
