PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of troublesome device discrimination information setting operation by automatically or semi-automatically acquiring device discrimination information of external devices in order to control a plurality of external devices. SOLUTION: A predetermined key operation is performed in S1, and an discrimination starting instruction is transmitted in S2. An input terminal, to which an external device is connected, is set according to information on a device designation key. Power supply control preset codes are selected in order in S3. Preset codes corresponding to a plurality of maker names are output in order and an Ir signal is generated in S4. When an external device 41 receives its own Ir signal, the external device 41 is powered on/powered off, thereby changing an output video signal.
