The roller (20) has an outer cover (22) provided with fibers (23), which are embedded in an embedding-material e.g. glue or epoxy resin (24), where a portion of the fibers or entire fibers is completely made of polyetheretherketone (PEEK)-material. An abrasiveness of the PEEK-material is similar as that of the fibers, where fracture mechanical characteristics of the fibers of the PEEK-material are better than that of plastic-fibers of polyester or polyamide. A diameter of each fiber amounts to 5 micro meters to 20 micro meters, and modulus of elasticity of the fibers is 6000.
