PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the influence of output displacement of a magnetic sensor 2, even when a magnetic moving object 1 displaces in the direction perpendicular to the stroke direction. SOLUTION: First and second divided blocks 6 and 7, having a U-shaped cross section, are arranged in a magnetic solid body so as to form a symmetric shape about the symmetry axis passing the center of the magnetic sensor 2. A first air gap (G1) is formed between the first end surface of the magnetic moving object 1 and the magnetic sensor 2, and a second air gap (G2) is formed between the second end surface of the magnetic moving object 1 and the facing sections 13 and 14 of the first and second divided blocks 6 and 7. Thus, even when the magnetic moving object 1 is displaced in a direction perpendicular to the stroke direction, the first air gap (G1) and second air gap (G2) mutually compensate variation the gap length so that the influence of the output displacement of the magnetic sensor 2 can be suppressed.
