PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cigarette paper that has sufficient air permeability and strength and yet has excellent removal performance of harmful substance derived from sidestream smoke (especially offensive smell substance). SOLUTION: The cigarette paper is obtained by papermaking from a paper raw material including a zeolite-pulp composite material and pulp at a weight ratio of solid content of 70:30-30:70, and contains 15-35 wt.% of zeolite. The "zeolite-pulp" composite material is a composite material of pulp and zeolite internally having zeolite in a pulp entity.
