The transmission has an input sided torque converter (24) connected with an output shaft (44) in a torque transmitting manner. The torque converter is connected with the output shaft via a transmission stage (54) with a pre-determined transmission ratio or via a taper disk continuously variable transmission stage (42) with a transmission ratio that is adjustable to a value such that rotary speed of the output shaft remains constant after switching of the torque transmission. An intermediate shaft (26) is connected with a gear wheel (28) in a torque proof manner.
