<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed image with as appropriate gloss as possible. <P>SOLUTION: When the frequency of appearance of a white pixel having a CMYK value of 0% is not larger than a gloss mode boundary value of 1402, gloss is provided to CMYK toner by carrying out slow fixation at a reduced speed relative to a normal speed to developed CMYK toner. When the frequency of appearance of the white pixel is not smaller than a transparent toner mode boundary value of 1404, gloss is provided to the whole of a paper surface by using a transparent toner. Thus, even if a user does not analyze print data, a gloss mode can be appropriately and automatically changed over to a transparent toner mode and vice versa in accordance with characteristics of input print data 1001 and 1201. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
