摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensing device capable of performing sensing of higher sensitivity by using the resonance phenomenon of a metal microstructure and light. SOLUTION: The sensing device 1 is configured to use the resonance phenomenon of the metal microstructure 23 and light L3 and equipped with a measuring chip 20 having one or a plurality of the sensor regions 22 having the metal microstructure 23 on its surface 21b and capable of internally guiding the illumination light L3 for illuminating the sensor regions, a light source part 10 to output light L2 serving as the illumination light L3 and a photodetector 42 for detecting the scattered light L4 occurring by scattering the illumination light by the metal microstructure in the sensor region. The measuring chip includes the side surface 21a positioned on the lateral side of its surface, and the light from the light source part is thrown into the measuring chip from the side surface.
