<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device, a camera device, an image processing method, and a program, capable of performing face detection over the whole face sizes detectable by a face detector without increase in cost to perform exposure control independent from the face size, and thus improving the image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The camera device 10 includes the face detector 18 which detects a face from a given image based on detection information; and processing parts 16, 17 and 19 which set the detection information of the face detector 18, divide at least the whole image area before distortion correction of images before distortion correction and after distortion collection, and give the divided images to the face detector 18 in a time division manner.
