PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a dot region consisting of dots in a print image to have a desired width when printing an image using dots of a plurality of sizes. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus determines a formation state of dots in printing an image using dots of a plurality of sizes. The image processing apparatus includes: a storage part wherein a width correspondence table showing the correspondence relation between a plurality of dot arrays being combinations of dots of specific colors along a prescribed direction and widths being along the prescribed direction of dot regions consisting of dots formed on a printing medium in accordance with the dot arrays is stored; and a dot formation state determination part which determines a formation state of dots on the basis of the correspondence relation shown in the width correspondence table.
