FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanics particularly to elevators and method to arrange elevator drive (1, 2, 3, 3', 4). Elevator consists of cab (11) and counterweight (12) arranged in elevator shaft (10). It incorporates the drive mounted on cross frame (8). Two counterweight guides (9, 9') and cab first guide (5) are attached to the 1st wall, while the cab second guide (5') is attached to the 2nd wall. Note here that elevator drive seats on aforesaid cross frame, supported by brace (7) fitted at the cross frame center. Drive motor housing and brake housing are attached to brace (7) furnished with holders (7.1, 7.2) jointed together via distance bar (7.3) to embrace, at least partially, previously mentioned motor and brake housings overall dimensions.
