PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil pump device in an automatic transmission which is provided with an energy regeneration mechanism that allows an electric motor to operate as a generator by rotating a second oil pump, driven by the electric motor, while supplying an excessive flow of a first oil pump, driven by an engine, to the inlet side of the second oil pump when rotation of the engine is higher than a prescribed rotational frequency. SOLUTION: The oil pump device is provided with electromagnetic switching valves 18, 25, which respectively make the inlet side of a second oil pump 12 communicate with either one of the discharge-port 11a side of a first oil pump 11 and the hydraulic-pressure-source side, and an energy regeneration mechanism 28 that allows an electric motor 13 to operate as a generator by rotating the second oil pump while supplying an excessive flow of the first oil pump to the inlet side of the second oil pump by switching the electromagnetic switching valves when rotation of an engine 10 is higher than a prescribed rotational frequency.
