PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engaging shock of a start clutch in restarting from an idle stop, in a control device of a transmission for a vehicle comprising an oil pump connected to an engine having an idle stop control means for stopping and restarting the engine according to operating conditions, and driven by the engine, and the start clutch (an engaging element for starting) supplied with an operating oil pressure from the oil pump. SOLUTION: When restarting the engine from the idle stop, the engagement processing of the start clutch is permitted after the engine speed NE reaches a threshold NESL or higher and further a reference time T has elapsed after the engine speed NE reached the threshold NESL or higher.
