PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a tire cord which improves a surface energy of an undercoating layer and improves adhesion between an undercoating layer and an adhesive layer without changing the mixing formulation of an adhesive composition. SOLUTION: The method for producing a tire cord by coating a twisted cord with an undercoating composition and an active energy ray-curable adhesive composition includes a step [1] for coating the twisted cord with the undercoating composition, a step [2] for curing the undercoating composition applied to the twisted cord, a step [3] for irradiating the cured undercoating composition with plasma, a step [4] for applying the adhesive composition to the twisted cord after irradiated with plasma, and a step [5] for curing the adhesive composition.
