<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress interference between a knee airbag and accessories of a key in the knee airbag deployment process, while holding down cost increases. <P>SOLUTION: An inflator 52 operates during a vehicular frontal collision. Upon receipt of gas supply from the inflator 52, the knee airbag 14 expands and deploys from the inside of a column cover 22 toward the knees of an occupant. As the knee airbag 14 deploys, a winding cloth 16 covering the knee airbag 14 deploys in a body widthwise direction, and intervenes between a subkey 58 as an accessory of the key 36 inserted into a key cylinder 34 of a lock unit 32, and the knee airbag 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
