PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet conveying device having a simple constitution capable of easily eliminating a jammed paper sheet. SOLUTION: The paper sheet conveying device comprises conveying roller pairs 32, 33, 34 for conveying paper sheets one by one, a jam processing member 40 which is attached and detached to/from a paper sheet conveying passage in a direction orthogonal to the paper sheet conveying direction, and turnable at the position of insertion, and guide members 35, 36 which are arranged at a position for guiding surface and back sides of the paper sheet, and form a space in which the jam processing member 40 is inserted by allowing opening/closing parts 35c, 36c to be vertically oscillated when the jam processing member 40 is inserted. A jammed paper J stuffed in the paper sheet conveying passage is wound around an outer circumferential part of the jam processing member 40 by inserting the jam processing member 40 in the paper sheet conveying passage and turning it by an operator, and drawn to the outside a casing 31 together with the jam processing member 40.
