An information providing system (10) includes a DSRC vehicle-equipped device (20) which is a terminal equipped in a vehicle (100) and capable of receiving contents for the members and contents for the nonmembers delivered by a predetermined communication system, a road-installed radio device (40) which is a base station capable of transmitting contents to the terminal (20), and an information providing server (60) capable of providing contents to the base station (40). The information providing server (60) includes a control unit for checking the communication environment which the terminal (20) or the base station (40) has. The terminal (20) includes a control unit for performing at least three processings: an admission pre-processing for enabling reception of contents for the members or withdrawal pre-processing of disabling the reception, a storing processing of storing the performed pre-processing, and a transmission processing of transmitting the stored pre-processing to the base station (40) when the terminal (20) enters the area where the terminal (20) can communicate with the base station (40). With this constitution, the user can receive only truly useful information.
