PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal elastomer that gives a large displacement amount even with a relatively low application voltage when the elastomer is used to configure an actuator, and to provide an actuator using the liquid crystal elastomer. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal elastomer is obtained by crosslinking a copolymer of a predetermined liquid crystal acrylate monomer (A), an acrylate monomer (B) and a monomer (C) having a crosslinking group. A dielectric film 20 is produced from the liquid crystal elastomer, and a plurality of electrodes 21a, 21b are disposed to interpose the dielectric film 20 to constitute an actuator 1.
