PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base film for liquid pressure transfer printing which can print a design having a cubic effect together with a glossy effect to a transfer object by liquid pressure transfer printing. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a base film for liquid pressure transfer printing composed of a polyvinyl alcohol based film, and in which the swelling magnification of the base film in a water face after 60s from its floating on water at 30°C is 120 to 200%.
