AIR ELECTRODE

Disclosed is an air electrode having a structure wherein an anion-exchange membrane and a catalyst layer for an air electrode are laminated and the anion-exchange membrane is arranged in contact with an aqueous alkali solution. A metal-air battery, an alkaline fuel cell and a water electrolysis device each using the air electrode are also disclosed. The air electrode reduces or solves various problems of conventional air electrodes for metal-air batteries, fuel cells and the like, which uses an aqueous alkali solution as an electrolyte solution, and can maintain excellent performance for a long time.
