<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an update program capable of taking over operability before updating even when a program is updated, and a program update device. <P>SOLUTION: An old version operation log data extraction part 213 extracts a utilized function among functions provided by an update object program and compares the functions provided by the update object program 400 and functions provided by its own program 200.
