PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the safe and inexpensive visual recognition in the scanning position of the optical probe for OCT (optical coherence tomography) to be inserted through the forceps channel of an endoscope. SOLUTION: A distal optical system 13 which is turned about axis along the lengthwise direction of a sheath 11 and a ferule 14 integrally fixed on the distal optical system 13 are arrayed in the roughly cylindrical long-sized sheath 11 to be inserted through a body cavity B.
