a bean which contains zinc in its fruit body in a high content; and a method for producing the bean. Specifically disclosed are: a fruit body of a bean other than an azuki bean, which contains zinc in an amount of 5.5 mg/100 g or more; and a method for producing a bean containing zinc in its fruit body in an amount of 4.0 mg/100 g or more, which comprises the step of spraying a solution containing zinc at a concentration of 0.01 to 2 wt% onto the surface of a leaf or a part to which a pod is adhered of an Azuki bean at the heading stage or later. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009
