A variable capacitor (A1-D1) that includes a substrate (1), a signal line (2, 2') disposed on a surface of the substrate (1) for feeding a signal, a ground electrode (3) disposed on the surface, and a movable electrode (4, 4') facing the signal line (2, 2') and the ground electrode (3), the movable electrode (4, 4') operable to move toward and away from the signal line (2, 2') and the ground electrode (3). The movable electrode (4, 4') can be displaced by an electrostatic attraction between the movable electrode (4, 4') and the signal line (2, 2') and between the movable electrode and the ground electrode (3). An amount of displacement of the movable electrode (4, 4') varies according to an amount of the voltage which generates the electrostatic attraction. |
