The method involves setting a correcting variable for controllable bypass station from the pressure within a wheel area of a steam turbine with a bypass station in a light-water reactor. The actual pressure is used as input within the wheel area for bypass regulation, where the reactor pressure is regulated in two coupled control loops. A valve opening value within a bypass regulation unit is determined from the correcting variable set by the reactor pressure from the measured pressure within the wheel area. An independent claim is also included for a light-water reactor comprising a reactor pressure vessel.
