The invention relates to a conical screw blender (100) which comprises an inverted cone-shaped vessel (102). The blender also includes a material inlet (104), a material outlet (103), a driven screw (203) housed within the vessel, and at least two non-diffuse gas injection lines (300) attached to the vessel.
