PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging lens system having an automatic focusing function using a liquid lens and an imaging apparatus using the same, which are miniaturized by constituting the imaging lens system of a smaller number of lenses. SOLUTION: The imaging lens system has a first lens group 1 and a second lens group 2 in order from an object side. The first lens group 1 includes a liquid lens system where a radius of curvature of a boundary between an insulating liquid 12 and a conductive liquid 13 is changed according to applied voltage. A center of curvature of the boundary between the insulating liquid 12 and the conductive liquid 13 of the liquid lens system exists on the conductive liquid 13 side when an object distance is set to infinity.
