PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal device that is easily operated not for a sound reproduction process during the sound reproduction process without malfunction, and also operated for a communication function without disturbing sound reproduction. SOLUTION: When one predetermined operation is performed during output of sound information and display of image information, a menu indicating that a standby image and a mail function are started is newly displayed. When the same operation as the one predetermined operation is performed in the state wherein the menu is newly displayed, control to close the menu is performed. When an operation to start the standby image is performed, the output of the sound information is carried on, the display of the image information is stopped, and a predetermined standby image is displayed on a display means.
