PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable winding mechanism capable of reducing the number of man-hours for manufacture and also manufacturing costs, and an assembling method. SOLUTION: The height of a drum 101 and that of a drum housing are set so that at least one round of a groove 103 can be exposed outside from the drum housing 151; the one end side of a first cable 121 is locked to one end surface 105 of the drum; a portion to be engaged on the one end surface side of the drum is engaged with an output shaft 143 of a motor 141; a first cable guide member 129 is mounted on the drum housing; the first cable is wound around the drum by driving the motor; a second cable guide member 139 is attached to a second cable 131; the one end side of the second cable is locked to the other end surface 109 of the drum; the second cable is wound around the groove of the peripheral surface of the drum exposed outside from the drum housing; the second cable guide member is mounted on the drum housing; and a drum cover 163 is mounted on the drum housing.
