PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an addition curable type silicone rubber composition having less volatilizing amount of a low molecular siloxane component from the cured article, and obtaining the cured article without having problems such that the formation of cloudiness or dullness, cause of contact point disorder, adhesion inhibition, making its surface as hydrophobic, etc., are developed by the attachment of the volatilized low molecular siloxane to surroundings, and the cured article of the same. SOLUTION: This addition curable type silicone rubber composition comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane containing an alkenyl group, (B) a resin-based copolymer consisting mainly of a R<SB>3</SB>SiO<SB>1/2</SB>unit and a SiO<SB>2</SB>unit and having 0.5 to 1.5 molar ratio of the R<SB>3</SB>SiO<SB>1/2</SB>unit to the SiO<SB>2</SB>unit [R<SB>3</SB>SiO<SB>1/2</SB>/SiO<SB>2</SB>], (C) an organohydrogen polysiloxane containing≥2 SiH functional groups in one molecule and (D) an addition reaction catalyst, having≤0.5 mass% content of organopolysiloxane having≤10 degree of polymerization and containing≥1 SiH functional group in one molecule based on the whole of the composition, and giving a transparent cured article. The addition curable type silicone rubber composition can give a transparent cured material suitable for an optical member without causing the problems of forming the cloudiness or dullness in its surrounding member.
