PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract an effective improvement plan for a business process from data stored in a database.

SOLUTION: The method includes generating, if applicable corresponding to a business identifier, a business process instance from predetermined data including time and success/failure of business by aggregating data related to the same business identifier in time series; receiving from a user designation of a notable business process instance and two notable events constituting the notable business process instance; extracting a business process instance having a path alternating the path between the two notable events in the notable business instance; extracting predetermined data including data for success/failure of business; aggregating the predetermined data with respect to each of the same business instances to specify an alternative business process; extracting the data for success/failure of business corresponding to the business identifier corresponding to the alternative business process; and calculating a success rate of business for the alternative business process.
