PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate making apparatus that can automatically adjust plate making energy which is output by a TPH (Thermal Print Head) on the basis of resolution of gauze of a master so that the optimum value to the master is obtained. SOLUTION: Density of the gauze 3 of the master 2 detected is by a sensor 8, a control means calculates, on the basis of prescribed data, plate making energy suitable for thermal boring of the master from the density of the gauze detected by the sensor, and outputs a driving signal to the TPH 10.
